Introducing PLANT, a double headed vase designed for floral ecosystems, and a miniature edition of the SPIN table candelabra.
Both exploit the process of making, from the generous possibilities of molten glass to the heavy-weight iron materiality of British engineering. PLANT is an abstract play on a typical vessel, a vase blown out of proportion. A unique double headed vase it extends the functionality of decorative glassware into a unique curiosity designed for floral combinations and curated micro ecosystems.
Mouthblown, each piece is painstakingly crafted into organic forms with two stem-like openings. Variations in the glass, from thickness to shape, contribute a truly unique vessel made to showcase the qualities of contemporary craftsmanship and freedom of form.
SPIN is an Industrial-strength piece of table-top engineering designed to act as a kinetic centrepiece and produce infinite arrangements. Designed with a series of counterbalanced arms that allow for different positions on all types of table top, SPIN is an exercise in solidity, movement and adaptability. Able to hold tea lights and taper candles with equal elegance, the cast iron contraption takes cues from the heavyweight cantilever mechanisms of dockside cranes and the mechanical elegance of 1950s mobiles.
Made in Great Britain, SPINis powder coated black. Engineered to operate with restrained motion, the system relies on cast ball bearings which allow for measured mobility and an ever changing instantly recognizable silhouette.
