Revealing Classical Feng Shui Secrets: 10 YES/NO questions

  1. Classical Feng Shui is a sort of BELIEF; we should believe in Feng Shui in order to reap the benefits of this method application.

NO.

Classical Feng Shui is not a belief and there is no need to believe in it in order to reap the benefits of its application. This method is several thousand years old and has developed from the ancient geography.

Actually, Feng Shui is a complex practice based on Classics, i.e. books written by respectful Masters. It takes at least a couple of years to learn just the basics of this layered method and every authentic Feng Shui Master is always using Compass in their property assessment.

  1. It is possible to learn Classical Feng Shui from books.

NO.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to learn Classical Feng Shui from books. In order to grow into serious and fully mature Consultant, one should learn directly from the Master.

Though practices of Classical Feng Shui consultants may differ, knowledge is always the base for their consultations, not intuition.

  1. Classical Feng Shui is about figurine placement.

NO.

Classical, genuine Feng Shui is totally NOT about figurine placement.

After consultation is done by genuine practitioner, no one could spot any figurines or Chinese ornaments in that space, as the result of consultation. Sensitive individuals might just feel relaxed and sense the overall balance and easy flow of energy.

Unfortunately, we may notice that many New Age practices are using Feng Shui as the cover for energetic and intuitive practices. Of course, they are not wrong, for diversity is always necessary; it is just the matter of authenticity. Core basis of Feng Shui is more science-like, based on certain premises and theories confirmed in several thousand years' long practice.

  1. The most important theories underlying Feng Shui are Qi, Yin and Yang and Five transformations.

YES.

Feng Shui and Chinese Medicine (well known for acupuncture method) do share common origin and basic theories. While Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners study Qi energy flow throughout our bodies, in order to adjust it, Traditional Feng Shui practitioners study External (Landscape, Surroundings) and Internal (Building placement, design), in order to tap the favorable energy Qi, enhance overall Qi flow and make adjustments where necessary.

Yin and Yang theory is very important for overall balance. Yang represents male principle, light, quick and superficial, while Yin represents female principle, dark, heavy and materialistic. In all ancient Chinese practices, establishing dynamic balance between Yin and Yang is essential, providing overall harmony and satisfaction.

Five transformations theory is based on Five Elements qualities and relationship. Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water are ruling everything in our lives, from Landscape to bodily organs and functions.

  1. Landscape affects people and not every feature is favorable.

YES.

Primary goal of Feng Shui practice was oriented towards assessment of the surrounding landscape in order of finding the best possible place for establishing settlement. Energy, Qi, is flowing beneath the Earth surface, protruding at certain places and making these spots - special. However, not every landscape feature is favorable and not every favorable feature is favorable forever. Certain places may hold their energy for centuries, but the other ones might lose their strength with only one built house (or grave).

In Classical Feng Shui it is well known that Earth energy is very important for our wellbeing and that carefully built houses might hold auspicious Earth energy and make several generations healthy and prosperous.

  1. Location is providing the basic energy for each human being and every activity.

YES.

In Classical Feng Shui, Location is - everything, for it defines the underlying energy in the area.

Our proximity to certain Landscape features (mainly Waters and Elevations) might decide of the quality of the energy we could receive. Mountains are the source of earth Qi, for they generate energy, but Rivers (and other water features) are also important for they are the Qi carriers. In Classical Feng Shui, Mountains are taking care of the health and relationships and Waters are responsible for people's intelligence and wealth.

  1. In Feng Shui practice, there is no need for Compass reading.

NO.

In Classical Feng Shui, Compass is the essential tool.

Actually, Feng Shui practitioners are using special Compass, Luo-Pan, for their assessments.

Some Luo Pans compasses might look very picturesque, engraved in red, black and gold, displaying Chinese characters in more than 36 rings only practitioner know how to use.

  1. There are many levels of Classical Feng Shui application.

YES.

Classical Feng Shui could be used for selecting a lot and choosing the best possible place for constructing, but it can be also used for designing residential or commercial complexes and individual properties. In certain cases, several dozen of factors are evaluated in order to find the best possible solution for specific property.
