Fendi Casa at IMM Cologne 2018
At IMM 2018, Fendi Casa will present an elegant and timeless interior design project. Solutions for everyday living that express a contemporary and innovative lifestyle in keeping with the design codes of the Roman Maison. The exhibition highlights the rational and moderate setting, where there is dialogue between spaces to maintain continuity.
Fendi Casa celebrates the best Italian craftsmanship and the most sophisticated manufacturing techniques with a well-structured range of furniture and accessories, in a perfect blend of precision and softness, contrasting graphic elements and colours, always with marked comfort and elegance.
The Collection includes some furniture icons, such as the Artù armchair designed by Thierry Lemaire, the Blixen armchair signed by Toan Nguyen, and the Velum lamps by architect Marco Costanzi: furnishings revisited with new finishes and colours, also available for the Montgomery sofa and the Constellation coffee tables.
The material experimentation dear to FENDI is enhanced by blending fine materials and innovative textures: the leather coatings, declined in various weights and thicknesses, are complemented by solutions in fabric featuring simple and decorated patterns. The top surfaces are in rosewood finished by master craftsmen, while metal design elements define structures and aesthetic details.
The colour palette evokes soft, powdery suggestions: natural shades that vary from light grey and quartz to sand, cognac and dove grey, while the ton sur ton pastel shades, in contrast with or matching the colours on the piping and the stitching, give depth and sophistication.
Montgomery is the three- or four-seater sofa characterized by a linear geometry and squared shapes. The wide arms, set lowered compared to the backrest, suggest the same softness of the generous seat, available with leather or fabric upholstery. Contrasting leather details on the arms elegantly define the design and contour the sofa.
ARTÙ ARMCHAIR, THIERRY LEMAIRE DESIGN
Artù is a small, exquisite and elegant armchair. The designer interprets with a sharp aesthetic sense a perfect solution for both living spaces and lounge areas: a tailored armchair in which the steel structure is modelled on a smooth curve from one armrest to the other to hold the seat cushion. The circular base is made from a single wooden block covered in metal, which becomes a distinctive element and the stylistic symbol of the project.
BLIXEN ARMCHAIR, TOAN NGUYEN DESIGN
Blixen is the armchair with graphic traits and an architecture that reflects the evolution of geometry in a perfect balance between minimalism and functionality, celebrating FENDI’s aesthetic codes. The seat, which has soft leather cushions, consists of the distinctive monocoque element held in place with metal buckles, reminiscent of Fendi men’s accessories.
CONSTELLATION COFFEE TABLES
Constellation is an elegant set of circular coffee tables: a blend of volumes and proportions that combine perfectly, defining a contemporary and refined proposal. The rosewood or metal structure supports the top in contrast tinted glass or wood.
Edge is a sideboard intended to furnish modern living spaces. The balanced proportions, generous volumes and metal details create a versatile and functional solution. The mix of rounded and sharp edges creates an extra touch of style for a contemporary item proposed here with doors covered in light-coloured leather that match the top with a matt lacquer finish.
VELUM LAMPS, MARCO COSTANZI DESIGN
The Velum collection includes table, floor and wall lamps that reinterpret the powerful shape of the African tribal masks, celebrating FENDI elegance and cutting-edge design. On the table and floor version the bases upholstered in refined leather are enhanced by delicate satin bronze lines. The slightly moulded lampshades discreetly conceal the light sources, which can be dimmed by a
small sensor placed at one end. The wall lamps, originally conceived with a leather cover, are presented in a luxurious version with mink or fox fur shades. The outcome is 7 pieces inspired by motifs and iconic elements of FENDI tradition in the art of crafting furs.
