A place out of time in the heart of the small town of Illhausern in Alsace, the Hotel five stars Des Berges is one of the ancient hotel in Europe. The hotel boasts a family tradition that lasts since generations.
Inside the Hotel there is the historical restaurant Auberge de l’Ill where the chef Marc Haeberlin proposes a gourmet cuisine which has been awarded with three Michelin stars. The restaurant, designed by the Architectural firm Jouin Manku, is divided in four rooms and offers a dreamy scenery, in perfect harmony with Pedrali furniture.
The dining room is characterised by a wall full of lights, while origami of butterflies and hummingbirds create a magnificent wallpaper.
There is a transparency game and there are some reflections in the veranda, overlooking the garden, where everything is in great balance with nature. Stork, herons, lakes and enchanted forests are typical of the Alsatian room, while the elegant charm of the large chimney changes the room, which previously was a dovecote, in a cosy and protective wooden oasis.
The Ester armchair, designed by Patrick Jouin, has been chosen for the restaurant. Its sinuous and accommodating shapes, the attention to details, the refined die-casted aluminium legs and the unconditional comfort guaranteed by a seat made of polyurethane foam with elastic belts, represent the best choice for a restaurant which is a landmark for the international high restaurant world, adding to this place a touch of exceptional refinement.
