Nimbus presents novelties at Fuorisalone
Nimbus will be presenting cableless LED luminaires and a special edition with Walter Knoll at the Fuorisalone 2017 in Milan...
Despite only having been on the market for a short time, the charming, cableless Roxxane Leggera CL LED luminaire from Nimbus, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer of premium luminaires, has already conquered the hearts of many. In April 2017 it will be travelling to Milan along with other cableless luminaires, where it will encounter design enthusiasts at the Fuorisalone.
DIVERSITY OF EXPERIMENTAL LUMINAIRES
"I love cableless light" – this will be the slogan when Nimbus, in collaboration with the Karls- ruhe Design College, creates a home environment illuminated by cableless LED luminaires in the fashionable Brera district of Milan – and invites the public to come and discover the surprising, in part experimental, variants of the mobile light sources. Both Nimbus and the future designers have developed new forms of expression in design coupled with uncompli cated, unfettered use of light on the basis of advanced battery and LED technology. For many visitors, the event will be the first time they come into contact with cableless light.
NEW IN MILAN: ROXXANE LEGGERA CL EDITION WALTER KNOLL
Walter Knoll is also full of enthusiasm – for the Nimbus Group's commitment to innovation as well as for the concept of mobile luminaires that give up to 100 hours of light without relying on a power cable. Ahead of the Fuorisalone, Nimbus developed an elegant special edition in collaboration with the renowned furniture manufacturer: a Roxxane Leggera CL with exquisite leather appliqués, which will be premièred simultaneously at the showroom in Brera and the Walter Knoll fair stands at the Salone del Mobile. (Hall 7, booth A27/A31 and Hall booth 22, Stand D26/D30).
LIVING TO BECOME MORE DYNAMIC, LIGHT TOO – LIVING SPACES MARKED BY ELEGANT CASUALNESS
What will the home of the future look like? This question inspired the befriended enterprises to develop a joint special edition that harmonises perfectly with the elegant living spaces created by Walter Knoll. The dining table has long been the focal point for communication, the kitchen an extension of the living area, and the traditional living room is being transformed into a multimedia chill-out area. Dietrich F. Brennenstuhl, CEO of the Nimbus Group, characterises the new mobile luminaires thus: "Modern living is full of dynamism, just like mobile light with our powerful, battery- powered LED luminaires, which are really unique in this form." Markus Benz, CEO of Walter Knoll, adds: "The flexibility of elements – that is the key issue in a modern home. Versatile side tables and light in a quality that allows me to read wherever I want – such things create a new quality of living, which is why the Leggera has a natural place in modern interiors. It is this elegant casualness that we like and that inspired us to the joint development of the special edition."
REFINEMENT WITH HIGH-QUALITY LEATHER APPLIQUÉS
The refinement of the special edition with appliqués made of high-quality saddle leather and the seam details so typical of Walter Knoll is carried out at the Walter Knoll factory. This limited version also boasts a colour shade that has been especially selected to match the company's furniture. Moreover, the height has been adjusted so that it complements the living and office environments created by the Walter Knoll brand of furniture. The Roxxane Leggera CL Edition Walter Knoll will be available from June 2017 and is limited to 500 units.
THE FUTURE IS CABLELESS – WITH NEW FAMILIES OF LUMINAIRES TO COME
Under Dietrich F. Brennenstuhl, the Stuttgart-based Nimbus Group has not only advanced the development of the successfully launched Roxxane Fly and Roxxane Leggera CL families of luminaires, but has also come up with other models that enable autonomous lighting solutions throughout the building. At the Fuorisalone, visitors will have the opportunity of gaining an insight into the new developments that are set to be launched in the course of the coming months: the Winglet CL mobile wall luminaire and the Gravity CL suspended luminaire.
Tomorrow's home life will no longer take place in rooms with specific designated functions – the kitchen will be become a living space, the living room a chill-out lounge, for example. Light will be mobile and will be taken to wherever it is needed. Together with Walter Knoll, Nimbus has looked into the future and developed a limited special edition together with the renowned furniture manufacturer – the première will be at the Fuorisalone 2017.
