Total black for knIndustrie new collection Black Family
In the colour code, black is associated with power and respect. This particular colour absorbs all other nuances and as such is a natural focus of attention.
Highly appreciated by women, in today’s society black is often associated with the notion of timeless elegance. Designers use it to give an aura of refinement and authoritativeness to objects and environments. But there is more to it: the colour black has always been synonymous with mystery, and in the interpretation of dreams it is said to signify a moment of change and major transformation.
Black Family by knIndustrie embodies a new way of experiencing the kitchen. The colour black, pure and absolute, takes pride of place on the table and enhances each and every hue of the table layout, while achieving a degree of independence from all other implements and accessories. Stylish and refined, Black Family is comprised of a number of elements, for cooking and serving food and drinks. Their shapes and the colour black underscore their contours, transforming them into veritable sculptures, to be put on display in the kitchen as though they were decorative furnishing articles. No longer harnessed to their intrinsic function, the articles in the Black Family collection live another life as small artwork, to be admired, enveloped in the fascination and the mystery of deep black.
Crete Black, tradition becomes contemporaneity
Cooking food in clay pots is one of the oldest methods of cooking, an ancient tradition of which evidence is found in all civilisations and peoples of the Mediterranean. Passed down across generations, it retains the natural taste of the ingredients and, to this day, it is often used to make modern preparations, thanks to the wide proposal of earthenware pots that make it possible to reproduce the characteristics typically associated with foods cooked in clay.
knIndustrie re-proposes Crete, a collection created in collaboration with architecture and design studios Brizzi+Riefenstahl and Q-Bic, in a black, gloss effect version. As in the past, the porosity features of clay can be exploited during the cooking process to achieve the best possible exchange of heat and moisture: Crete heats up very slowly and yields the absorbed heat little by little, thereby ensuring highly efficient thermal performance properties. The Crete Black collection is ideal to cook dishes requiring long cooking times without sudden temperature changes. Its design and colour make Crete a decorative implement, to be placed in the centre of the table as a symbol of conviviality and sharing
Matrioska, cocktail in Black
As the name suggests, Matrioska, the iconic shaker designed by Lara Caffi, takes its cue from the renowned nesting doll that, as tradition says, conceals inside something magic, something that symbolises life. Ergonomically shaped and easy to handle, Matrioska Black is made of anodised aluminium. Its glossy black colour underscores its stylised shape, transforming the shaker into a mysterious furnishing object.
Beyond Basic is dressed in black
The Black Family collection includes some elements from the Beyond Basic line, now available in a black version. In particular, we should mention the iconic Lady Anne coffee pot and the Eat Big Black set, consisting of a pan and a casserole.
Lady Anne Black
With its new mat effect black finish, the Lady Anne espresso coffee pot, designed by Lara Caffi, is more stylish than ever. A synthesis of past and future on account of its timeless beauty and original forms, Lady Anne draws inspiration from the refined silver coffee sets of the eighteenth century, revisited according to a functional approach, to make coffee as tradition demands and serve it with elegance. This total black version exalts the clean lines of the truncated cone shaped body in contrast with the sinuosity of the handle, making the coffee pot into a veritable centrepiece. Innovative and original, Lady Anne Black is made of painted black aluminium, has an ergonomically designed handle and a knob in thermally insulated Bakelite, makes four cups.
Eat Big Black
To cook dishes that are habitually prepared in sizeable quantities, whether to be shared on special occasions or simply to enjoy traditional preparations such as stews and soups, knIndustrie widens its cookware collections with Eat Big Black.
These generously sized, 36 cm in diameter, pan and casserole are made of non-stick mat black painted aluminium and ensure a uniform distribution of heat, both along the bottom and along the walls, for optimal cooking results. The design approach aims for a contrasting effect with the habitual colours of the kitchen, and seeks clean shapes that look stunning thanks to the colour black, used not only for the exterior of the pans, but also for the interior and their gloss effect painted handles.
