HOMI FASHION&JEWELS: Style that is worn, elegance that is expressed
HOMI Fashion&Jewels, the bijoux and fashion accessories industry shines once again at the Lifestyle Trade Fair.
The most precious and most beloved objects take centre stage at an event awash with suggestions and numerous initiatives, exhibitions and special spaces that will see the creations of the best national and international brands as the stars of the show.
HOMI Fashion&Jewels is however also the setting for a series of highly interesting meetings, organised by HOMI to enable the operators to get up close and personal in all respects with the latest fashion and lifestyle consumer trends proposed at the Lifestyle Trade Show.
THE EXHIBITION INITIATIVES
Experimentation, research, Italian craftsmanship and top fashion trends are the focus of the latest developments on display at the event. There are also various exhibitions and research workshops that are repeated at every edition.
‘La Pelle della Moda’ (Fashion’s Leather), an exhibition that celebrates one of the most precious, fascinating and elegant materials of all those used to make fashion accessories, is just one of the brand-new events that is taking place at HOMI.
With ‘La Pelle della Moda’, HOMI showcases leather jewellery, handbags, shoes, belts, and hats: one hundred leather items that highlight Italy’s creativity and manufacturing, premium craftsmanship and technology, international companies and young designers, but above all, the versatility and heterogeneity of this extraordinary material.
The leather industry brings fine craftsmanship and advanced technology, the extraordinary abilities of Italian artisans and the most advanced technological innovations together. A sector in which Italy stands out for its unique tradition, expertise and know-how.
The event showcase the products of exhibitors and representatives of major Italian brands, as well as being an opportunity for the fashion students of the Polytechnic University of Milan to create a new collection made with leather production waste, so as to demonstrate that innovation is possible without harming either persons or the environment.
Another new section – HOMI BEAUTY STYLE – provides beauty and personal care solutions. A space where visitors are able to discover the latest trends and proposals from the beauty industry: make-up, fragrances, nail polishes, men and women’s treatments, hair products and accessories.
This space, organised in collaboration with Thedecoside – the marketing and communications agency – and IMAGINE magazine, also provides the possibility to test the showcased products, through experiential journeys guided by experts and consultants. The virtual dressing room completes the area: an exceptionally unique experience offered by Xoonia and MADEITUP, Milan-based start-ups that have designed a digital mirror, a touch-screen monitor that returns an image of the customer ‘dressed up and accessorised’ with the chosen items in digital form.
‘Maestri del Gioiello’, organised in collaboration with Eventi Doc di Myriam Vallegra, has also been re-confirmed for this edition. The event is dedicated to the creations of artisan goldsmiths and features important and significant traditional Italian gold-making techniques, such as the Sardinian filigree, coral and cameo working, the use of precious metals alongside artistic ceramics and artistic miniatures, a.k.a. the Real Made in Italy craftsmanship that is so highly sought-after the world over and that inspires individuals all over the world.
Moreover, there are live demonstrations featuring goldsmith techniques, owing to the participation of a number of goldsmithery schools, including the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana in Milan and the Scuola Orafa Abaco in Verona.
‘Tuttepazzeperibijoux’, the jewel narrative research workshop organised by Maria Elena Capelli, completes the exhibition offer. The area hosts a number of companies that make one-of-a-kind and innovative jewellery and that have a special story to tell, combining both tradition and innovation.
Last but not least, the ‘Project Room’, an event organised with Artisanal Intelligence, promotes contemporary creativity, paying special attention to the promotion of Made in Italy excellence. The design event that ranges from patterns to accessories, from interior design to fashion collections, where the creative process is narrated and showcased.
TALKS AND MEETINGS
New commercial strategies, consumer trends, winning entrepreneurial styles and dialogue with sector institutions, are the topics of discussion at the conventions hosted in the dedicated HOMI Fashion&Jewels area.
The ‘See Now, Buy Now’ talk show that will take place on Friday 15 September at 12:00 is set to be of particular interest. The event, dedicated to the new retail direction on the theme of ‘See Now, Buy Now’, will see the contribution of Cristina Tajani, Councillor for Labour Politics and Production Activities in the Municipality of Milan and Mario Boselli, among others.
The meetings scheduled for the following days will see female entrepreneurship within the fashion industry and its prospects for the future, the new commercial strategies to be a competitive retailer in the goldsmithery sector and a debate on the prospects for the accessories sector, as the focus of the discussions, which will be open to lecturers, designers, buyers and entrepreneurs.
Finally, there will also be two events dedicated to a captivating runway show that will be held on 17 September: the catwalk will see the current season’s most representative collections take centre stage, in a mix and match of bijoux and accessories, the real stars of each and every outfit.
